PSP Dock Cradle

We love our red PSP 2000 alot. We love the enhanced graphics, the Skype capability, and especially the TV output feature. We don’t love the lack of remote and docking station though, especially when using the TV out functions of the PSP. Maybe it’s because we use the PSP Camera to shoot photos & movies that we then like to display for our friends and family on their TV, but it’s always been very inconvenient not having some sort of docking station or remote control. Sony’s finally wised up to this (seriously guys, what took so long?) and released this nifty docking cradle with remote that will both charge your and output your PSP 2000 to your TV provided you have the right cables.

Where Can I Buy Or Get The PSP Camera?

Sometimes the marketing minds at Sony confound the heck out of us. Ever since the original mention of the PSP Camera at E3 in 2004 it has been one of the most desired PSP accessories that we in the US “can’t” have. Why Sony, why won’t you release it here in the states? Heck, we even setup the World’s First PSP Camera Webcam back when the PSP-2000 introduced video out capability. Every time we go out with our red God of War PSP 2000 with the camera attached we literally get stopped and asked this question: “Where can I buy the PSP camera?”

We purchased our original “Chotto Shot” (the Japanese name for the PSP Camera) from Play-Asia a year or so ago. While we simply cannot fathom the reason why Sony won’t release it here themselves, luckily you can still purchase it from Play-Asia using either of the links below. The PSP camera is region-free and every PSP made to date from the PSP-1000 to the PSP-3000 have the software already loaded to use the camera to take photos and videos.

Red PSP 2000 – God of War Entertainment Pack

Perhaps it was the Special Edition Halo 360 that sold so well, or maybe it’s the fact that Nintendo has often joked in interviews that their numbers show consumers like to own multiple colors of their handheld consoles. Either way Sony has finally wised up and has started offering special edition PSP’s stateside. (We’re purposely forgetting, but not forgiving Sony for the particularly ugly awful Darth Vader Battlefront White PSP.)

The God of War PSP is a PSP-2000 model, which means it’s slimmer and lighter and Skype capabable. The bundle also comes with “God of War: Chains of Olympus” and a copy of Superbad on USD, along with battery pack, AC adapter and no USB cable. (That’s right, Sony thinks you’ve probably got a dozen USB cables lying around the office, and they are probably right.) They did throw in a PSN Game Voucher for “Syphon Filter: Combat Ops” which we suppose makes up for it.

The “PSP God of War Entertainment Pack – Red” starts shippiong on June 3rd. And yes dammit, we want one, even though we already have three PSP’s lying about our office. Curse you Sony! Gratuitous open box shot after the jump.
